Andrew is a 21 year old from Maui that just released his first CD “The Beginning”. Andrew’s dad, Jay, has been a full time bassist/vocalist his whole life and his dad was a professional saxophone player. Jay tried to get his son to play bass, but at the age of 13 he found his calling. In one visit to Borders he bought every Pure Heart and Jake Shimabukuro album and never looked back.
Andrew was inspired by Jake but has a different style from him and any other ukulele player I have heard. His picking style is very unique, and his compositions show advanced musical concepts. Melodic riffs flow over a modulating landscape. A modal display of emotion and energy. Enjoy!
Sample the album and download it here- itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-beginning/ or get a CD from his website – andrewmolinaukulele.com I consider this album to be momentous and soon to be influential. His style is fresh and his ability is abundant.
This emerging artist shows us again what a beautiful instrument this is.
Thanks for stopping by. See you next time!
